Yes this is a terrible video but there is something about a beaver on the highway that is reminiscent of Idaho. He just won't get out of the road ha.
These "Hey girl" sayings are hilarious. Let's not be in denial that we wish he would say them to us.

There a little cement wall above a ditch that we used to go to all of the time when it was warm.
Story: Once on a Sunday walk we decided to descend into the woods. Jenna was taking our neighbor's small dog for a trial-run (to see if they wanted to buy it from them or something) and wouldn't you know it, that little rascal ran away from us. Michaela had been holding the leash and let go, so she was a wreck. As if it wasn't bad enough losing someone else's dog in the woods where we saw a wolf once, we heard a truck coming down the road. This also wouldn't have been bad if we hadn't entered the woods by hopping a "No Trespassing" fence. We we're thinking that the owner of the land was going to come shoot us so we all took off in different directions to hide. Well I (Moriah) was holding our community mannequin head and when I took off I threw her about 10 feet and ran into what turned out to be a swamp. I had wet, wet, legs. The guy then came out of his truck and came up to us (we were all laying on the dirt, hoping not to be seen) and asked if the dog running around was ours. We said ya and then he left us alone, still scared of a gun that might be drawn. The dog was found among the brush and we went on our way.
Daniel is one of the funniest, sassiest, coolest cats around. He and Moriah sat next to each other in AP English senior year and bonded over their sarcastic comments under their breath.
This probably explains why we're friends.
Goodness, I really like food.
One of the best and worst parts about growing up and living on my own has been cooking for myself. Of course, I learned something of the culinary arts whilst I spent my childhood in the streets of Rexburg, but the entire experience was a brave new world that I had never imagined. Besides the thrill of bargain shopping (Craziest thing I do all week. Unfortunately, that's not an exaggeration. I'm a Capricorn. We don't get out much.), trying new foods is probably one of the most adventurous things I do on a regular basis. I still have scars from teaching a friend how to make a fried rice that I discovered. However, my favorite part of food is the way it seems to be able to bring people together. The most people I've ever had in my apartment at the same time was last semester when I had a scones party. Because who can say no to free fried bread and good company?
Several months ago, a couple of my friends and I started a weekly ritual called Corn Dog Wednesday. CDW usually occurs on a Wednesday, but, ironically, that is not always the case (note that it is still referred to as Corn Dog Wednesday, no matter which day of the week it occurs on. However, as a rule, it never happens before Wednesday. These rules get a little bit complicated sometimes.). At any rate, CDW is an opportunity for de-stressing and bonding with friends. We mix up some batter from scratch, dip hot dogs on sticks in the batter, and fry it in a pot of hot oil. And you have corn dogs. But the experience is really more than that. We take the opportunity to unload our minds for a little while and enjoy each other while experimenting with new sauces, or changing the balance of the ingredients in the batter.
In my sociology class, we discussed a phenomenon called emergence. This is where you have multiple components to a group that interact in a way that creates an unexpected effect – one that cannot be explained by its component parts. I believe that food and society have an emergent effect on an experience to make it better than what it would be without one or the other: Grocery shopping is way more enjoyable when you have someone to go with you, and if you want a church activity or date or anything like that to go well, by golly, you had better plan some good food into the agenda. Not that neither can succeed without the other, but the positiveness of the experience improves exponentially when both are incorporated.
So make some fun of it! Make something new and adventurous. Do it with a friend. Make some memories, traditions, food. If you don't think you are that good at cooking, put yourself out there, and try something new. The world of culinary possibilities is open to you.
Here's Michaela, she is a very good model, and has mastered the serious face. She has a very good face shape for pics too. Here's the peacock photo shoot :)
James Mercer was already cool because of the Shins and now he has struck another chord with Broken Bells. Also check out "The High Road" if you dig them.
Baha what a good pun. Hermione's face is the best.
Saying:
Think of something that terrifies you, and face that fear in a small way this week, like playing the piano in church, or speaking in front of people, or dancing in public.

This is our beautiful and hilarious friend Jenna Rae. Ever since she moved to our neck of the woods back in middle school she has had us laughing and smiling. Jenna has a fabulous sense of style where the more girly the better. She taught us to embrace glitter, pink, and zebra print because that was totally not our forte.
Story:
Once upon a time it was a lovely summer day and we had absolutely no idea what to do. Somehow the idea was brought up that we could make miniature rafts out of anything we could find in nature and have a race down the ditch across from Logan's house. We made lots of different rafts with sticks and leaves and raced them. Unfortunately they got stuck under the tunnel that goes under a road and didn't come out the other side. Sure that sounds silly, but the point is that you don't have to do something extravagant to have fun, especially if you are with your best friends.
So Moriah and I are extremely in love with summer. We can't even put to words the feelings that we have for it. But right here, right now, we will try because winter is here, and on this blog, we don't like that fact. We have summer fever, and being raised in Idaho, we are pretty confident that we have the best summer's, and during the other 9 months, we are praying for it to come around again :)
Why the Love?
1. Being together- our parents try to ground us from each other all the time. HA!!! We love each other way too much for that to go down!!!
2.Sleeping wherever and however long you want. (like turning your bathroom into the woods and watching twilight to finish off the effect, or sleeping in tree houses, or at each others houses, or in new states :)
3. Heat
4. Gardening. We love to plant things and watch them grow. This last summer both of us realized how rewarding it is to get our hands dirty and plant beautiful things that God created for us to enjoy. Our parents appreciated our help too :) We fit in some good discussions while we did this too!
5. Inventing our own foods! Like we posted earlier, we had a day where we invented extreme pizzas, we have come up with extreme wrap recipes with everything in our fridge (p.s. brown sugar and hot sauce in disgusting-courtesy of Moriah)
6. Making lists of things that we want to do. We really like to make lists (hence this post :) and even though we NEVER do all of the things we want to (because we make our lists too big) it is very fun to dream.
7. Going on walks. When we were both in high school we (paige, michaela, jenna, moriah, and myself) love to go on Sunday walks, they help us keep up with whatever is going on with each other.
8. We love the golden light that shows up a little while before the sun sets :) (I-Logan-am obsessed with this)
9. Being barefoot!! Neither of us are much of shoe wearers no matter the season, so when our fav one rolls around, our feet are screaming for attention!!
10. Hair wraps. Neither of us have had these in for a really long time- Moriah because of job interviews, and me because I don't like to have them in when I go to the temple, but in the summer we have been known to have up to 12 with our heads combined :) love them!
11. Skinny dipping and streaking. 'nough said :)
12. Taco Bell time!! we have had some rockin' times there!
13. Road trips. This last summer both of our families went on road trips. My fam went to Seattle, and Moriah's to Iowa. There is just something ,magical about road-trips. You never know what will happen, what amazing things you will see, and how many things you will be able to check off on your bucket list!!
14. Traveling period. Planes, trains (we wish!!) and cars, whatever it takes!
15. Softball games. I (Logan) play and I like to bring my besties along with me sometimes. Summer softball is so much better than spring softball. Since spring in Idaho isn't spring. It's winter.
16. Blasting music and keeping all of the doors open while you do chores :)
17. NO SCHOOL!!!!! oh man!
18. The eternal dream of having a summer romance :) (que Notebook :)
19. T-shirts and shorts every day. No make up, sun dried locks and tan/fried skin:)
20. Cuts, bruises, and peeling sunburns. These things make you feel alive!
21. BRIDGE JUMPING!!! or just being in any kind of water!!!
22. Riding bikes to wherever the wind blows us.
23. Lilacs and other sweet smells.
24. The sound of construction. At least I like it :)
25. Hopscotch :)
26. Stars. They make us dream and also realize that God created everything in the universe and wants us to enjoy it!!
27. The beauty it brings. Summer makes us feel much closer to God because being outside brings peace to us and helps us realize all that has been done for us. It blows our minds that every deer, every strand of wheat, and every beautiful person was carefully designed to be perfect. We live in such a beautiful place!
28. Camping-especially girls camp.
29. No curfew:)
30. Concerts!
31. Fireflies, water skippers, cyotes howling at night.
32. Late-night drives.
I found this pic on google. It is in Kentucky and reminds us of the Hannah Montana movie :)
California dreamin'
I took this picture of my dads (Logan's dad) garden produce to put on the boxes of his great plant protector invention :) love all of the food from gardens.
Paige looking like a creep with a hat on and roasting a marshmallow in Missouri :)
Family :) This is Logan's niece Brooklyn
Beaches and the animals around them. This was taken at a beach an hour from Seattle Washington.
Logan boarding. Hayden (Logan and Paige's little bro) likes to make his own. Moriah once had a bad accident while longboarding. She doesn't really do it anymore. It's a shame.
D.I. time!!! We are often found together in a dressing room with an entire cart of clothes :)
This was the last day that we were all together before Moriah left for college. We met at like 6:30 (because Michaela had a band trip at like 9) at Moriah's and made pancakes and then watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, one of our very favorite movies :) Mallory is on the left and Michaela is on the right.
Moriah left when the river was too high, but me (Logan) and all of our younger siblings went a couple of times. If you are friends with Moriah or I on facebook, and you go clear back to last August you will find a video of me and Paige bridge jumping with a picture of Moriah in a plastic sack. She was with us in spirit :)
Logan, Paige, Michaela, Morgan, Mallory, and Hayden. Camera timer!!
Cats. This is Emmy-Lou. She is as old as Paige
We both look terrible in this. But it is the only picture I have of both of us at this time :) I guess we can learn to deal with it.
Hehe :)<-----So unflattering, but whatevs.-Moriah
Taking low-quality videos of your favorite singer.
We hope that you enjoyed our list of summer times loves. May you all get summer fever.
This, I Believe
Once upon a time I wrote an essay in tears because
of the divorce of my parent and the cancer of my sister. Through much of
this I desired emotional support and friend that would listen to my
troubles seeing as though I had none at the time that seemed open minded
enough to hear me out. So, I vented all my ambition and hopes on to a
piece of paper. I remember it was in English class my sophomore year
when I began to weep when I was informed of something called “This, I
Believe.” In a internal storm of emotion, upon hearing this, I reached
an eye in a hurricane of raw humanity. I knew what I wanted to do. I
began to write and through it I healed myself... this is that paper that
I wrote in that class:
Many have wondered what it would really
take to be accepted by all. The truth is that one must simply appear
human. But the moment you open your mouth is when you curse yourself to
being judged by your peers. It's all OK. Don't worry about such things.
As long as you follow a few simple rules about life and social
acceptance, you will be fine. These characteristics are as such:
The Caring Soul
The Loving Heart
The Gentle Mind
The Open Arms
The Caring Soul belongs to those that are genuinely interested in what
their friends do and say. They support the ideas that they think that
are cool and often help by taking the idea to the next level. They are
careful about what they say and try not to offend anyone. They lift up
their friends when they had just given up and set them back on track. In
times of stress they will try to make everyone else feel OK.
The Loving Heart belongs to those that have more than just a friendship
riding on their backs. They have a much more stable heavier relationship
that, despite all of it's tendencies to perhaps get awkward, They still
say each other that our friendship is not worth throwing away for some
short lived romance. They believe that with the love that they have for
each other they are more than boy or girlfriend; they are friends which,
in many ways, is much better.
The Gentle Mind belongs to
those who have restless thoughts for the safety of their friends. They
find out the problem and immediately try to help them. Many people have
the Gentle Mind, although, the Gentle Mind never think of itself when
their friends are in need. Good listeners and poets alike have caring
thoughts for their friends and family. Taking the inspiration of their
friends and turning it into a masterpiece of falling words, feelings and
deeds, is what they do best.
Lastly, The Open Arms belongs
those with all three of the key characteristics. They show their friends
they love them each day and just have fun with life. They are usually
light hearted and look for the best. These are the kind that would jump
in front of cars for their friends. They deeply care enough to lie down
their lives for them and would do it any day of the week. They always
have a smile and look forward to the best in life and when in then best
in life (which is often) they live in the moment and take that time to
tell their friends they love them.
I'm in no way saying I'm
like any of this. The only message that I wish to send is that the
friend is of the greatest of people to happen in anyone’s life. Falling
through darkness alone is scary, but when you are holding hands with the
people you care about and are most comfortable with then you will be
able to make it.
Do not do this for yourself... do this for your
friends and always remember that you are a great and so are they. Do
this with an unselfish mind and remember who you are, for your true
friends love you for that. I am blessed to have many friends... that
show everyday this aspect in their lives. I love them... and this is the
very purpose of this note. To genuinely thank all those who have been
there for me and to make a promise to them by trying to be like the
friend that i have just described.
Both in person and in prayer. Both in thought and in deed. Both in heart and instinct. Both in soul and with love.
With the utmost of sincerity of heart, soul, mind and hands,
Erik Jordan Phillips
It's often been stated that things are not always what they seem. What
is perceived to be confusing and of little consequence to all others,
does, in fact, have a bit of an effect that ripple out and somehow,
someway touch the lives of others. This is a story of a confused kid
and how he was healed through those ripples of unlikely comfort and
placidity. Although he looked sad on the outside, he was peering
hopefully through the clouds in his soul. Of passion and pressure and
three simple words was this boy brought to an incline of good faith and
eventually nurtured to great potential. The words were: This, I Believe.
This is Erik :)
Thank you Erik P., you have inspired us to be better friends and listeners. Keep wearing your wild suspenders and hats- never listen to anyone who tells you that they are not rockin'!!
