How to Overcome Heartbreak-Logan and Moriah Style

Like every other girl out there we have experienced forms of slight heartbreak.
The truth is, every case is different but some things are universal.
So sit back, listen to this cheesy playlist and prepare to have a whole heart again.
We aren't experts by any means but here is what we have done:

1. Listen to Taylor Swift. She has a song for every mood.
2. Plan ways you would get revenge on said boy,but then never go through. Like filling his bed with spiders or put eels in his bathtub.
3. Realize that they aren't the one for you. Harsh, but you'll see the signs of that later.
4.  Watch She's the Man or any movie that makes you laugh.
5. Stay busy.
6. Hang with your family on the weekends. Or your friends of course.
7. Get out and do some service!
8. Write a letter that is completely positive, give it to them, and let those be your final words.
9. Delete their number and any other form of communication you feel necessary.
10. Talk to your mom.
11. Have a sleepover with your best friend and talk it out.
12.Listen to cheesy music and sing it at the top of your lungs.
13. Change that cutesy screen saver.
14. Let yourself be sad, then mad, and then finally content.
15. Try a new haircut or something like that.
16. Pour yourself into an art project or any other project.
17. Spend some time with men who will never let you down. Aka Ben and Jerry.
18. Don't go crazy on the sweets though ha.
19. Learn something new.

Guest Blogger- Gene

So today's guest blogger is Gene, or Eugene. A little less than two years ago he moved to our hometown and became really good friends with Paige because of orchestra. He is very funny, and dresses well. Today he is going to share his feelings on “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. Enjoy!!

Gene, this is the best pic I have ever seen of you, you are very handsome! Congrats.

So, I’m quite fond of this blog. One day I decided to tell Logan this, and she asked me if I wanted to be the guest blogger this week. What the heck is a guest blogger? I asked and was then told that every week they had a guest come in and write about three paragraphs on whatever they wanted. Apparently, most of them are about friendship and whatnot (hence the name “Addicted to Friendship”) but she said that variety was good and that I could be creative and maybe talk about my “creepy obsession with ponies”. You got it, Logan.

It all started a few months back. I was on Youtube when I noticed one of the people I was subscribed to was uploading full episodes of a TV show called “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. What the heck? Isn’t that a show for little girls? After a quick Google search I came to the realization that a whole community had been built around this TV show mainly consisting of older men from their teens and up. And guess what they call themselves? Bronies. Men watching My Little Pony? What is this? I was curious and decided to see what the craze was about and watched an episode.

Fast forward a few months and here I am having seen every episode up to date and eagerly anticipating every Saturday morning for a new one. Why? This show was created by a woman known as Lauren Faust, who is known for her work on the Powerpuff Girls. When asked to create a new My Little Pony TV series, she decided that not all little girl’s shows needed to be about braiding hair, picking dresses, and having tea parties. This isn’t your regular mindless little girls’ nonsense. This is good. She made this something that can be enjoyed by anyone, despite it being targeted to children (like Disney movies!). The animation is smooth, the humor is smart and hilarious, and there are musical numbers that stay in your head for weeks. And the best part? Every episode teaches an awesome lesson on friendship that can benefit everyone-- all while keeping it interesting with awesome plotlines! There’s one episode in which Pinkie Pie becomes depressed because she thinks everyone is avoiding her, when they’re really planning a surprise party for her! During her depression she goes into a sort of physcological breakdown that’s pretty much impossible to not find hilarious. It’s not the sort of thing you'd find in typical little girls’ shows.

So, maybe you still think it’s creepy, but give it a chance anyway. This is an awesome show and it’s even more awesome that Hasbro has let every episode be uploaded in full HD onto Youtube for your convenience. Give it a chance, and I guarantee you'll find yourself singing along to the theme song eventually. You might even say you'll be "addicted to friendship"! Hah! I'm so funny! Anyway, what are you waiting for?! Go, go, go! Remember, friendship is magic, brony!

Gene is now employed at Mcdonald's. Rock on, buddy :)
I
This cracks me up. On facebook the title for this pic was "I am so good with children". HA!!
"Just chillin' with my pal Pika"
 Ya, I don't even know.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good blog post!

EXTREME HAIR TIME!!

So three Sunday's ago I (Logan) got really sick of my long hair, and I had to chop it off. So i got a hair appointment for the next day. I really wanted a pixie cut, but decided that it was to extreme for now. I probs would have gone into shock. So I went back to a hair cut that I had in 8th grade, but it was cut badly back then and I looked like an idiot for several months until it grew below my manly jaw. So I got a much better cut 2 weeks ago.
This is the only example of my cut that I could find :)

Then I decided to dye it on Sunday (like two days ago) because I found some dye in my mom's drawer and remembered that I love to dye my hair...............It was a bit darker than I thought it would be. These two pics were taken yesterday, not when I was 5, and a cat, like in the above pic.

This was a terrifying time for me.

Then it magically turned out somehow!! oh ya.

I hope that you can enjoy how ridiculous I looked during the dying process and also several years ago. I have even better examples of how bad the cut was, but I can't find them, so cat face will have to do. Also, I like the change that short hair has brought. It is definitely weird to have my neck exposed.

Here is a cluster of pics of my fam from years ago, just for a little bit more enjoyment :)

Manic Monday aka Music Monday

Logan's Pick:
Classic. Yes we heard it in the Last song. Doesn't mean it is less cool.

Moriah's Pick:
Love Birdy. This song is haunting.

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

At least once a year I cut my owns bangs and it is ALWAYS a disaster. Most of the time I cut without looking with the scissors at a diagonal angle.
For some odd reason though I think I am a master hair dresser.
Like trying to dye my hair blond twice last week and it still looks the same.
So they are a little short and will probably drive me crazy but I have blunt bangs now.

Kids stay in school. And away from scissors.

Someday when dreams will come true Logan will have a laptop and we will skype and she will help with Saturday posts. I (Moriah) feel a little selfish on Saturday posts.
Also, we have both been experimenting with our hair. I tried to go blond and it turned red-ish and Logan cut her hair off for locks of love.
Things are getting wild.

Wednesday Guest Blogger: Chase

So about a year ago, the choir and orchestra went on a trip during spring break (it wasn't even a trip, we stayed at the high school!) and on the first or second day we were all lined up for lunch. Moriah and I, along with Laura, Jessy, and Rachel, were being hilarious and laughing a ton. Soon enough, we realized a sophomore boy in front of us that was turned side ways and listening to our every word......his name was (and still is) Chase. Soon after that realization, we asked Chase if he wanted to sit by us for lunch (he said yes of course) and we also asked him to sit by us on the way to the swimming pool (like an hour and a half away). Within that first day, Chase became one of our beloved friends. Since most all of my friends (Logan's friends) graduated last year, Chase was pretty much all I had left, so we have become such great friends. Our friend group consists of 5 amazing people, including Tanner, Cu (from Vietnam), Marina (from Germany), Chase, and myself. We have many others who graciously drift in and out also:) We hang out every weekend and drive to track and softball together while we blare gangster rap songs. We also eat a ton of food at wedding receptions, have hilarious lunch conversations, and refer to each other as the country we were born in. Moriah and Chase are also good friends, and when we are all together we have even more fun :) So please enjoy Chase's feelings on accepting our friends!

Chase:
Well I guess I should preface this with the fact that this is not a product of my best work seeing how I wrote it way past my bedtime. Well not way past but I did write it on very short notice and was encouraged to lie, steal and cheat make sure it was finished in the time allotted.

One thing in my life that I believe strongly is the act of acceptance. It is one belief that I feel is most important. I found myself on several occasions trying to fit in and be like the crowd just to gain friendships. It was on occasions like these, however, I came to realize that if these people really wanted to be my friends they wouldn’t need me to put up an act for them. True friends would accept me for who I am and not care about the flaws that I have. A true friend is one who would not abandon me at my times of trial or in my time of need but rather help to build me up and make me a better person. A true friend is one who would always be there to help me out with anything, whether is be a homework assignment, making a movie for a student body office election (Thanks for all your help Logan), or bailing me out of jail (this has not happened to me…. Yet). It is these realizations that I made during a time of looking for the right friends that brought me to some of the best friends I have today.
With that realization of a true friend and acceptance, I also realized the need for me to equally give back the acceptance and care to my friends in order for them to equally feel the love they have given me. It is with that, that I founded my belief of acceptance I found the need for me to be able to accept my friends for whoever they were. No matter what they believed, no matter what they liked to do, no matter how weird or annoying they could be to me at some points in time, I needed to accept them for who they are and that would lead for them to be my friends and eventually my best friends who I could share anything with. With that also comes the need to not hold grudges. I have found to really like people who don’t hold grudges because it gives me one less thing to worry about when it comes trying not to offend that person. Learning from what I like in a friend helps me to know how I should act as a friend.
Although it took me a while to make this realization that true friends are ones who don’t need to be impressed with a fake show, I think it is something that has shaped the way that I make and look for friends now, in a good way. I am so grateful for all of my best friends… you know who you are if I can hold an entertaining conversation with you in which I laugh to the point of near death, if I can flirt with you and you know that I am not a total creep, if I can talk to you about anything, if I listen/dance to Nicki around you, or if I sing Kesha over the phone to you. I highly encourage everyone to accept more and not hold grudges. It really makes for the best friends and helps to make you a more enjoyable person to be around. I will be the first to admit that I am still trying to apply these things in my life and that sometimes I am not the best at always accepting everyone, but I am trying and that is what I think counts the most. True friends will come to you as you realize and apply the attributes of a true friend, and it is these friends that will make your life the best it can be.

Left to right; Marina, Tanner, Chase, Me, Cu. Our regular lunch-time crew :)
Valentine's dance!! We totally rocked the dance floor with our gold and leopard getup!
Glamour time :) This is when Chase bleached his hair last summer. Popular!!

This is my favorite, I had to throw it in for a good giggle!! :)

Thanks for your great words on learning to accept our own friends, hopefully we all learned something from him and can become better friends to all!

Wednesday Guest Post- Ashlyn

So this little post is by Ashlyn, my (Logan's) fellow softball team-mate and long time friend.

Her and I get in trouble by our coach a lot because we have a blast and she thinks we are

too silly when we are together. Which we are :) So here is a quick read- I hope you enjoy

her humor just as much as I do.

When Logan came up to me last week during Softball practice, I knew it could only mean

one thing.. I was her guest Blogger. Wow was I nervous! But as I began pondering on a

topic, I thought of all the blessing I would receive from this. So in Matthew 5 it says....
Okay but really. I didn't know something to talk about because everyone who blogs on here

is really clever and funny, to an extreme! I have my moments, but they are rare! ha. Okay

so one thing I've always have been interested about are the cliques at Madison High

School, and how ridiculous it is! There are the preps, and the nerds, the athletes.. you all

know what I'm talking about. Anyways I know that people hang out with the people they

do, because they are around each other a lot and have the same interests. But I've loved

getting to know different people from different "cliques". Softball is a great example,

because most of us aren't really "athletes" because in softball, you don't need a lot of

athletic ability. So we have the musicians, the group of people who drink monsters and

make out with a lot of boys, and a lot of people who don't really fit in a specific clique. But

something I find interesting, is that we're all able to connect in some way. If everyone in

high school got over themselves and realized how not that cool they are, and actually got

out and met different people, they'd realize how many things they have in common with a

ton of different people! As a senior in high school, that's the one thing I wish I could have

done different. I would have branched out and met as many different people as I could!

Because looking back, I can't say many people know me, or that I know many people. So

my advice for all you youngins out there would be to get out and meet as many people as

you can!
Now to finish I tried finding a quote that has to do with branching out, and this is what it

gave me... "I want to branch out. I want to write. I write poetry. I want to see my children

grow up well."-Annie Lennox

Happy Hunting!!
-Ashlyn

Ashlyn with her famous little fam.
 ope! gotta love dogs!
oh ya! Ashlyn is a very good second baseman-but right here she is playing pitcher and trying to get the out at home.
Ashlyn and I on the night of Junior Miss- she completely biffed it in the dress rehearsal (she was right next to me and i said "get up now!!" it was hilarious) :) Love ya Ash!!

Thanks Ashlyn, we sure appreciate your humor on and off the field! Go to Matthew 5 everyone! And branch out so that you don't look back and say "I wish I would have been her/his friend".
p.s. Love the creepy quote from Annie!!
